Nutritional Therapy helps to identify any nutritional deficiencies from which we may be suffering. These could occur as a result of a poor diet, poor digestion or perhaps lifestyle. Nutritional deficiencies often have a direct impact on your health and general well-being. They can often leave us feeling lethargic and even with specific illnesses.
Nutritional Therapy looks at your diet and lifestyle and how your body reacts to certain foods/ food types. It identifies whether the digestive system is functioning effectively and how it is interacting with other parts of the body. We also consider what effect environmental factors could be having on your health and well-being.
Many health conditions can be assisted through Nutritional Therapy, including:
- Issues with weight/ obesity
- Arthritis and joint pain
- Blood pressure
- Skin disorders
- Digestive complaints, for example, IBS, bloating, constipation etc
- Female hormonal imbalances
- Fatigue/ low life energy
- Stress/ anxiety
Prior to your first session you will be asked to complete a questionnaire about your general health and lifestyle in addition to a food diary.
The first session usually takes between an hour and 1½ where we discuss the questionnaire in detail in addition to your general lifestyle. We will then identify the best way forward for your individual needs. Follow up sessions usually last for around 45 minutes.
